Our "Budget" Vinyl Convertible Top - Even at our low price, a canvas top can be beyond the budget of some Spider owners, so our vinyl top is just what you need! Made with the same workmanship and quality as our canvas tops, our vinyl top differs only in the material used. The black and tan 38 oz. vinyls are the highest quality available and feature a very attractive "canvas grain" pattern that accurately duplicates the look and texture of canvas. In fact, looking 5 or 6 feet away from the car, it is difficult to tell that one of our "canvas grain" vinyl tops is not real cloth! Remember, these are high quality 38 oz. tops, not the 36 or 32 oz. tops offered by other vendors. Available in black or tan for 1967-'85 124/2000 Spiders and 1967-'73 850 Spiders.

ADDITIONAL TOP PARTS YOU MY NEED

Cables for convertible top (#1 above) - In every 124, 2000 or 850 Spider a tension cable runs thru each side of your convertible top. You will most likely only need to replace these when you are installing a new top. Often they are re-usable, but at $6.72 each they are downright cheap if you need new ones. (you will need 2)

Convertible top weatherstrip (#2 above) - On the convertible top frame at the very front is a piece of weatherstripping that seals down against the windshield frame when you close the top. Usually quite tattered by now, if in less than perfect condition it can let in wind, noise and rain. We highly recommend that you replace this weatherstripping when installing a new convertible top.

Plastic Retainer for top weatherstrip (#3 above) - In the 124 or 2000 Spider a plastic strip holds the rubber weatherstripping onto the front metal bow. If you are installing an new top you may need to replace this plastic strip if it is damaged or missing. The rubber weatherstripping will not be able to be held into place without it. (850 Spider does not use this part.)

Convertible top "pull" handle kit (#4 above) - How do you raise or lower the top in your Spider? You grab the handle in the middle of the front of the top of course! What, you say, your car does not have one? Or maybe your handle is "trashed" or only held on by a thread! Install a new handle in minutes with out pull handle kit. A new handle, retainers, caps and screws are all you need to make your Spider like new here. A Caribou exclusive!

Convertible top boot hooks (#8 above) - The convertible top boot (listed below) that goes on 124/2000 Spiders is held on at the back by these chrome hooks on your car's rear deck (same hook for left or right side). Sometimes these are missing or the chrome is severely decayed. Make your car look like new or be able to install a top boot with new chrome hooks. Sold individually.

Convertible top boot hook gasket (#9 above) - A rubber gasket is under each of the two chrome hooks that hold the boot in place. These gaskets keep the paint from decaying and the chrome hook from rubbing on the sheet metal, thereby preventing rust from forming and eating away the sheet metal. Replace these gaskets whenever you remove/replace the chrome hooks and especially when you car is repainted. Sold individually.

Plastic convertible top frame covers (#12 above) - The front  the convertible top frame on each side has a plastic cover over it to provide a "tidy" look. Often these are lost and missing and the average Spider owner does not even know they were on the car! Replace your tattered or missing covers with our accurate reproductions at a very reasonable price. You will not believe the difference in the way the car looks! Sold each.

Convertible Top "Boot" - By far the part most requested by our customers over the years! All Fiat 124/2000 Spiders originally came with a vinyl Top Boot that covered the convertible top when down, but today most have either been lost or in such bad shape they just aren't usable any more. Now Caribou provides our Fiat Spider Convertible Top Boot at a very reasonable price. An accurate reproduction of the boot Fiat originally supplied, it comes complete with all the necessary front and rear mounting hardware and clips already installed so you can put it on your car in just minutes! The Top Boot will not only add handsomely to your Spider's looks (we feel it's the single biggest improvement in looks that you can make with the top down) but it also protects the retracted top from sun, wind, stains and other nuisances. Our Top Boot will fit all 1967 to 1982 124/2000 Spiders. Available in beige, black, brown, blue or burgundy. Priced at $189.00 for any color. Choose the color you want.
