IMPORTANT TRANSAXLE SERVICE INFORMATION
Virtually every 914 is long overdue for a change of transaxle oil, we recommend a change immediately after you purchase a used car - no telling how long it's been in there. And on top of this, most cars are using a lubricant that is "less than perfect" for your transmission! Almost every 914 owner we talk to has been using regular hypoid gear oil in the transmission.
Did you know when the 914 was sold as a new car, that the factory recommended a change of the differential/rear axle oil after just 6000 miles? Did your car ever have that done? And various service publications call for a regular change between every 12,000 to 30,000 miles! Plus, it is our recommendation to do an oil change just after you purchase a used 914. You just don't know how long it's been in there! The perfect lubricant to use is Redline's 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Oil which is designed to provide the highest degree of protection and efficiency.

FUEL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE INFORMATION
The #1 trouble with all fuel injection systems is dirty and clogged injectors. Though many gasolines advertise injector cleanliness, a General Motors study to the Society of Automotive Engineers indicated their customers encountered injector plugging with all major brands of gasoline. Hard starting, rough idle, poor mileage and lack of power or response are all signs of this problem.
Red Line SI-1 Fuel Injector Cleaner contains the most powerful high-temperature detergents available to clean fuel injectors. SI-1 can clean injectors to nearly 100% efficiency with only one treatment! The cleansing of injector deposits can raise fuel economy 12% or more, depending on the condition of the injectors. SI-1 also contains detergents and a synthetic upper cylinder head lubricant which will clean the intake valves, pollution control valves and combustion deposits. Also, SI-1 removes water from the fuel thereby protecting the fuelsystem components from rust.
